Native Plant Collection
The Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park’s Native Collection showcases a diverse range of Cayman Islands native flora, from ornamental plants suited to home gardens to species that support local wildlife and critical habitats. Developed with support from the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability through funding support of the Darwin Plus Local Grant, the initiative has strengthened the Park’s nursery facilities and expanded the propagation of native species. The collection promotes biodiversity conservation, sustainable landscaping, and environmental stewardship by encouraging residents to incorporate indigenous plants into their outdoor spaces. Plants are available for purchase at the Kirkland Nixon Visitor Centre, with information guides provided to help gardeners successfully grow and maintain native species.
