HERITAGE GARDEN
Heritage Garden is home to the historic Rankine House, an authentic Caymanian dwelling dating back to the early 1900s and once owned by Mr. Julius Rankine of East End.
The home is complemented by a traditional sand yard, carefully swept smooth and bordered with queen conch shells, reflecting a long-standing Caymanian custom. Surrounding the house is a classic island yard featuring fruit trees, medicinal plants, and ornamental species that were once essential to everyday life. A traditional Cayman kitchen, outhouse, rope cart, and other heritage elements further bring the Caymanian culture to life.
Offering a heartfelt tribute to traditional Caymanian living, the Heritage Garden preserves the cultural story of the islands through its historic structures, local crops, and thoughtfully curated landscape. Together, these elements provide visitors with an intimate glimpse into Cayman’s past—where resourcefulness, simplicity, and harmony with the land shaped daily life.
